Last week I inspected dilapidated grand old home that was going to auction.

My clients are experienced renovators and at least one of them is a tradesperson in the building industry, however they wanted a second opinion and the extra depth of advice in areas not familiar to them.

The home was not lived in for decades and was looking very dilapidated but on closer inspection it turned to to be much better than it looked.

It is the sort of situation where many potential buyers would overlook this type of property thinking it was too far gone when in fact it was a good fixer with all vital elements sound or nearly so.

I am sure that many potential buyers that had not done their homework will come to regret it.
