Building inspection reports, builder refunds my inspection fees to the owner

I had the displeasure of conducting new home stage inspections for a client whose builder was doing a particularly bad job. It’s a major volume builder but it looked like the house was put together by amateurs, a tragedy after tragedy of errors, poor supervision and management. After builder agreed to pull down brickwork to rebuild, damaging windows in the process, I recommended that the client consider terminating the building contract. That did not happen but I got the call today from the builder, asking for inspection invoices because they agreed to refund my client all six inspection fees.

My client is still desperately unhappy with builder’s work and I am due to do pre final inspection next week

Refund of my inspection fees is not nearly enough and the builder’s job is a disgrace but something is better than nothing.
